Florafor polpetta a new species.

  • F. polpetta is a small terrestrial creature first discovered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada that bears an uncanny resemblance to a large meatball in shape and size. Atop each F. polpetta specimen is a singular vertical cavity measuring 0.4 cm in diameter and 3 cm in depth. Curiously, nearly every F. polpetta specimen reported to date has been found with several flowers nestled within this cavity.

  • F. polpetta is a delicate creature. It is not fond of water and should be kept away from environments with high moisture or direct exposure to liquids. It is prone to shattering if dropped. It is flammable thus it should never be placed near open flames or excessive heat.

  • F. polpetta appears to favor elevated perches, where it may observe its surroundings with an air of quiet superiority. Most commonly, F. polpetta can be found resting atop bookshelves and mantels or acting as the centerpiece of a coffee table. Occasionally it has been known to venture upon windowsills and the occasional bedside table.

  • Wood, bamboo, plaster, shellac.

  • As a newly discovered species, the true population size of F. polpetta is unknown. Only 20 specimens have been discovered to date.

  • The transfer of F. polpetta is one of careful preparation. Each specimen is cradled by protective craft paper that is encased within a sturdy cardboard box to shield it from the rigors of travels. Accompanying each specimen is a label and label holder, ensuring that F. polpetta may be presented with the dignity it demands.
